Job Functions: |
PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE PRE-SALE TECHNICAL CONSULTING SUPPORT OF ENTERPRISE GRADE SATELLITE AND OTHER TYPES OF BROADBAND NETWORK SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO: EVALUATING CUSTOMER NEEDS AND REQUIREMENTS ANALYSIS, SOLUTION ARCHITECTING AND COSTING, TECHNICAL WRITING, PROPOSAL GENERATION, AND INTERDEPARTMENTAL COORDINATION. REPRESENT SPACENET TO CUSTOMERS AS TECHNICAL EXPERT TO ASSIST IN THE SALES OF PROPOSED SOLUTIONS.
- RESPONSIBLE FOR TECHNICAL RELATIONSHIP WITH CUSTOMER
- ACT AS SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT ON SPACENET EQUIPMENT AND SERVICE OFFERINGS
- ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN KEY TECHNICAL RELATIONSHIPS IN POTENTIAL AND EXISTING ACCOUNTS
- CONVINCE CUSTOMER OF TECHNICAL SUPERIORITY OF PROPOSED SPACENET SOLUTION
- WORK HAND IN HAND WITH SALES TO CLOSE DEALS
- ENGAGE POTENTIAL AND EXISTING CUSTOMERS TO DETERMINE NEEDS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR WIDE AREA BROADBAND NETWORK SERVICES
- TEAM WITH ACCOUNT MANAGERS TO DEVELOP ACCOUNT STRATEGIES
- DOCUMENT, DRIVE AND CLOSE ALL ACCOUNT RELATED DELIVERABLES
- CO-DEVELOP PRICING AND ROI STRATEGY WITH ACCOUNT MANAGER
- TAKE A HIGHLY ACTIVE ROLE IN DRIVING AN OPPORTUNITY TO CLOSURE
- LEAD ARCHITECT FOR CUSTOM SOLUTIONS
- RESPONSIBLE FOR DEVELOPING COMPLETE SOLUTIONS BASED ON KNOWLEDGE OF EXISTING PRODUCTS AND SERVICES, AS WELL AS FUTURE ROADMAP
- DO DUE DILIGENCE ON OVERALL SOLUTION
- MEETS TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- MEETS BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS
- COMPANY RISK ANALYSIS
- PROVIDE ACCURATE COSTING AND DOCUMENTATION OF PROPOSED CUSTOM SOLUTIONS
- RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING OPERATIONAL FEASIBILITY OF PROPOSED SOLUTION
- LEAD PRE-SALE WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS WITH CUSTOMERS
- EFFECTIVELY ENGAGE COMPANY RESOURCES IN ALL DEPARTMENTS TO DEVELOP HIGH QUALITY RFP/RFI RESPONSES
- RESPONSIBLE FOR MANAGING RFI/RFP RESPONSES FORM OPERATIONS, FINANCE, ENGINEERING AND LOGISTICS
- DEVELOP AND DELIVER TECHNICAL PRESENTATIONS TO CUSTOMERS
- DEVELOP PROPOSALS, PRICING, TECHNICAL WHITE PAPERS, APPLICATION NOTES, TEST PLANS AND FEEDBACK REPORTS

| Experience or Qualifications Required: |
- MINIMUM 10 YEARS TECHNICAL SALES ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE SUPPORTING NETWORK SERVICE DELIVERY SALES TO LARGE WAN PROJECTS
- STRONG ANALYTICAL ABILITY
- EXCELLENT VERBAL, WRITTEN, AND PRESENTATION COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS
- IN DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF NETWORKING PROTOCOLS, ROUTING AND CONCEPTS
- IN DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF ENTERPRISE APPLICATIONS COMMONLY OPERATING IN WAN ENVIRONMENT
- ABILITY TO QUALIFY, DESIGN, AND PRICE WAN SOLUTIONS
- ABILITY TO ESTABLISH AND BUILD RELATIONSHIPS IN LARGE IT ORGANIZATIONS
- ABILITY AND STRONG DESIRE TO QUICKLY LEARN NEW CONCEPTS AND IDEAS
- ABILITY TO DEVELOP CREATIVE SOLUTIONS TO NEW OPPORTUNITIES
- EXPERIENCE WITH DEVELOPING NETWORK ARCHITECTURES USING CISCO EQUIPMENT STRONGLY DESIRED
- HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE WITH CONFIGURATION AND MANAGEMENT OF NETWORKING EQUIPMENT A PLUS
- PRIOR VSAT AND SATELLITE EXPERIENCE A PLUS
- ABILITY TO TRAVEL

| Education Required: |
- MASTER’S DEGREE IN ENGINEERING, COMPUTER SCIENCE, A RELATED DISCIPLINE OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE
- CISCO PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION STRONGLY DESIRED
