The process of deploying a satellite enabled Non-stop Networking solution became much easier for corporate IT departments with the advent of the “VSAT Network Module” from network equipment manufacturing giant Cisco. The Cisco VSAT Module with Spacenet services provides a unique solution for mission-critical disaster recovery/backup networking and other on demand applications, integrated directly with a customer’s existing Cisco router equipment. Leveraging the industry’s most advanced satellite technology, it delivers available-anywhere broadband capabilities that can be used for failover connectivity, digital content delivery, IP telephony, Internet/VPN access and more. Competitive solutions utilize multiple devices, increasing the complexity of the system and adding components that may fail. Spacenet’s solution reduces complexity and eliminates the problem of multiple points of failure by using the Cisco router. Spacenet is the exclusive service provider in North America for satellite services for the Cisco VSAT Network Module, creating a tremendous leap in the ease of managing satellite and terrestrial links in a hybrid network.

Our line of Connexstar VSAT services has been optimized to deliver a premium level of performance compared to other standard satellite network services currently on the market. Connexstar is the only off-the-shelf VSAT service to provide Minimum Assured Speed guarantees, providing a premium level of performance compared to other satellite network services currently on the market. Although many network providers specify the maximum network speeds that its services can achieve, typical speeds may be much lower than what is advertised. Spacenet’s Minimum Assured Network Speeds guarantee that Connexstar services stay above a defined minimum speed level (specified for each Connexstar series), providing a consistent level of service to support your applications. In addition, Connexstar’s low contention ratio is one of our strongest features and differentiators. The contention ratio is the maximum number of other customers that share the network infrastructure/bandwidth. Spacenet services typically have 25 times fewer customers sharing bandwidth on our standard services as compared to competitors. Many competing service providers “over subscribe” their standard services to such a degree that they must artificially limit the customer speed and throughput through strict “fair access policies” to minimize network congestion.
True Carrier Class Digital Phone Service:
Spacenet’s Digital Phone is a complete carrier-class digital voice service integrated with Spacenet’s Commercial-Off-the-Shelf Connexstar VSAT services. Unlike traditional VoIP based services that leverage the open public Internet to provide inexpensive long distance calls, Connexstar Digital Phone is directly connected to the public switched telephone network (PSTN). In addition, Spacenet’s Digital Phone service leverages the unique “Voice Dedicated Access” channel architecture of the Gilat SkyEdge VSAT platform. Using this feature, Spacenet can completely segregated voice and data traffic at the VSAT, actually tranmitting the voice and data packets over different frequency channels. The result is an un-matched quality of voice services, compared to other VSAT providers, and the unique ability to simultaneously make phone calls while bursting data transmissions. Our carrier-class Digital Phone service enables customers to make clear digital telephone calls, in addition to receiving business class Internet access, and real-time video over the same high-performance satellite link.
