Spacenet announces unique new small business solution providing a comprehensive range of connectivity and tech support services for franchisees

McLean, VA, March 8, 2006 — Spacenet Inc. today unveiled its Small Business Solutions program, which provides franchisors and franchisees with a single source for network access and comprehensive help desk services. The solutions program includes “no fault” tech support solutions that can cover everything from Internet access to Point of Sale devices or back-office PCs. Customers can also get affordable DSL or VSAT broadband connectivity that is integrated with the help desk offering or can be used separately.

Spacenet Small Business Solutions are aimed at both franchisees and franchisor organizations. Franchisees can get complete help desk solutions or cost-effective networking services for a single location or for hundreds of sites. Franchisor organizations can provide their members with a “one-stop shop” for these services or can outsource their own help desk functions to Spacenet.

The Spacenet Small Business Solutions connectivity offering provides high-speed Internet access (which can optionally be restricted to customer-defined URLs), credit card transaction support, e-mail accounts, web site hosting, virus protection and network security features. Connectivity add-on options include on-site maintenance packages and the Spacenet Prysm network appliance that can be used for firewalling, application routing and dialup/network backup functions. In addition, the technical support offering provides a first level help desk that includes support for connectivity in addition to the franchisee’s POS equipment, credit processing terminals and back office PC and printer equipment. Customers can also “bring their own” connectivity from providers other than Spacenet for use with the help desk service.
