Spacenet adds new Connexstar On-Demand services to provide mission-critical backup and business continuity connectivity for enterprises and government

McLean, VA, May 15, 2006 — Spacenet Inc. today introduced Connexstar SE On-Demand, the newest addition to its lineup of advanced satellite network offerings for mission critical backup and business continuity solutions. The new Connexstar SE On-Demand offerings bolster Spacenet’s backup/disaster recovery solutions with new advanced features, faster speeds, and increased security.

When a customer’s primary network connection is interrupted, Spacenet’s Connexstar On-Demand satellite service provides a broadband network “lifeline.” Benefits of Connexstar On-Demand backup include: a wireless last-mile solution that provides a physically diverse network path from terrestrial alternatives; it is easily and quickly deployable; it can be seamlessly integrated with primary networks; and customers pay on a usage basis for the bandwidth they require, minimizing costs when the backup network is not being used.

The newly added Connexstar SE On-Demand services are based on the Gilat SkyEdge™ VSAT platform, enabling faster speeds (up to 2 Mbps); stronger encryption and built-in accelerated Cisco VPN compatibility; and significantly improved bandwidth efficiency. In addition, different backup service packages are available, which are based on a set number of hours of backup connectivity per month, with additional days available at a set price.
