Program
New Channel Partner Relationship Will Offer Advanced VSAT Satellite-Based
Services for Transportable and Emergency Response Communications
McLean, VA. September 11, 2007 - Spacenet Inc.
announced today that it has signed a sales agent agreement with
TESSCO Incorporated, a wholly owned subsidiary of TESSCO Technologies
Incorporated, (NASDAQ: TESS). The Spacenet agent program enables
qualified telecommunications providers and value-added resellers
to offer Spacenet’s high-performance Connexstar voice, data
and video satellite communications services.
Spacenet’s Connexstar satellite services deliver an enterprise-grade
wireless connectivity solution that is available virtually anywhere
in the United States without relying on the local terrestrial
telecom infrastructure. The services include commercial grade
high-speed satellite service that supports completely converged
communications including carrier quality digital telephone, broadband
data, and real-time video. Connexstar services are available in
fixed or transportable configurations for full-time or on-demand
usage, and are compatible with the Gilat SkyEdge™ VSAT platform
or the Cisco IP VSAT Satellite Network Module.
TESSCO manufactures, integrates and supplies wireless LAN and
enterprise mobility products from various OEM’s, and under
its TerraWave Solutions brand. As an authorized Cisco Solutions
Technology Integrator (STI), TESSCO will offer Spacenet’s
Connexstar services as part of a TerraWave branded solution to
support the Cisco ISR Based Instant Communication Solutions (iComm),
which are integrated bundles of Cisco and third-party gear specifically
designed as portable communications solutions.
The iComm solutions can be rapidly deployed in the event of an
emergency, network outage or an ad-hoc event to provide secure
data, voice and wireless services. Combined with Spacenet’s
self-pointing satellite antenna and Connexstar services, the solutions
provide the ability to rapidly deploy converged communications
virtually anywhere in the United States. As a Spacenet Channel
Partner, TESSCO will act as a systems integrator to provide the
complete Cisco iComm platforms and satellite services to enterprise
and government customers, as well as to Cisco resellers.
