today announced that it has achieved Service Provider Level I
PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security) compliance for its
VSAT satellite and managed wireline services. For years, Spacenet’s

The new PCI compliance provides an additional layer of confidence
to Spacenet’s customers in the retail, hospitality and financial
services industries, enabling them to meet the highest standards
for financial transaction data security. In addition, Spacenet
has joined the PCI Security Standards Council as a new participating
organization and will work with the Council to evolve the PCI
Data Security Standard (DSS) and other payment card data protection
standards.
PCI DSS is a uniform and worldwide data security standard that
ensures merchants meet minimum levels of security when storing,
transmitting or processing credit cardholder data. Meeting PCI
data security requirements is required for businesses that process
