SureCast Multicast
Effortlessly broadcast data, files or video to tens, hundreds or thousands of sites all at once
Surecast File Distribution
Surecast is an IP multicast application developed by Spacenet to optimize individual or batch delivery of files across satellite networks. The ability to rapidly deliver large volumes of data or other digital content to a large population of remote locations via multicast distribution is a unique advantage of VSAT technology. Popular applications for multicast file delivery include pricing/inventory updates, software updates, internal communications and training/documentation.
Surecast is designed specifically to provide reliable content distribution functionality (including control of delivery of specific files to individual VSATs or entire VSAT groups) with minimal upstream traffic over the network during multicast transmissions. The Surecast system enables the easy integration of a wide variety of multicast-centric applications (such as audio and video store-and-forward and digital file delivery) into existing VSAT networks.
Multicaching Acceleration
MultiCaching provides corporate intranet users with extra web browsing acceleration for unmatched performance -- above and beyond Spacenet's built-in IPA web accelerator.
Spacenet’s Internet Page Accelerator (IPA) is the leading technology for accelerating web browsing across VSAT networks, by using intelligent software at the Spacenet hub to “pre-fetch” HTTP objects and deliver them to the user. Spacenet’s MultiCaching technology offers two significant additional browsing improvements: persistent TCP connections and pre-caching of intranet content.
This combination approach provides optimal results for both Internet and intranet users. Users browsing Internet sites will benefit significantly from the tunneling and pre-fetching features, significantly reducing the time needed to make new connections and eliminating the need for HTTP object requests to make round trips over the VSAT link. Users accessing intranet sites/web-based applications will derive great benefits from tunneling, pre-fetching and the multicast pre-caching, which drastically reduces static page element loading times and decreases bandwidth usage.
